Role: Product Traceability Operations Manager
Purpose of role: To oversee the deployment and ongoing management of Primark's product traceability tool across our international sourcing countries
Reports to: Product Traceability Lead
Location: Reading or Dublin
Key Responsibilities:
To provide day to day management of our traceability tool. Act as the point of contact for all supplier and internal Primark queries.
During the implementation of the project, you will be required to be a key member of the implementation team assuming a role in decision making, owning the delivering of the roll out plan and mapping all required exercises
Work closely with the platform vendor to define any enhancements / configuration required
Own the data integrity for the traceability tool including its certification, completion, alert system management
Building on the data integrity of the system, you will have responsibility for the reporting of information from the traceability and transparency tool, ensuring that the information provides Primark with useful and strategic data that can inform decision making
You will support the Product Traceability Lead for the business roll-out programme and the design of the new Traceability tool within Primark
.
Deputise in the absence of the Product Traceability Lead.
Ideally you will draw upon your previous experience from a commercial function being a subject matter expert on supplier management & product traceability and transparency.
To ensure appropriate resources are allocated in a timely manner including from external partners & vendors
On an ongoing basis, ensure progress is made to plan, continuous improvements are identified, and actions and system adjustments made whenever necessary
Support the Product Traceability lead in managing and developing in-country colleagues' structure and individual capability to ensure the tool is successfully embedded in all regions and are delivering the required integrity of information in this sensitive part of the business.
Work with wider business functions to ensure understanding, acceptance & use of the traceability tool.
The ideal individual will be:
A highly experienced and effective people & process manager, with a demonstrable track record of personal performance and achievement on strategic projects, ideally in domestic and international settings
Pragmatic, practical and results driven.
Able to deliver in the face of varied and frequent challenges
Experienced in working in a commercial, sourcing or ethical trade function and have experience working across different markets.
Good end to end sourcing awareness and understanding and a solid grounding in sourcing, sustainability or ethical trade functions
The individual should be self-motivated, focussed and results orientated, with the ability to operate within a highly pressurised and fast paced environment, consistently delivering results and achieving corporate objectives on time and within the agreed parameters.
Core Skills
Approximately 3 years retail commercial, sourcing, supplier management or ethical trade management experience
Experience in project delivery & ownership
Able to manage internal and external stakeholders
Discreetly able to manage a sensitive part of our sourcing function
Excellent personal organisational, prioritisation and time management skills
Excellent problem solving, strategic thinking and planning skills
Relationship builder both internally and externally with strong influencing skills
Experience of working in a fast-paced sourcing, sustainability or ethical trade environment
Cultural awareness and sensitivity
Strong administrative skills
