You can be a part of this fast-growing business by leading marketing for SQL Server on Azure VMs, part of the Azure SQL family of databases. We are looking for a Product Marketing Manager to accelerate the business by landing our SQL Server migration story with field, partners, and customers. This role will provide the chance to work on a key product offering in Azure and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
The product marketing manager will lead our go-to-market for SQL Server on Azure VMs. Responsibilities include:
• Acting as the core product marketing manager for SQL Server on Azure VMs by owning messaging and positioning, collateral, and web presence.
• Landing SQL Server migration scenarios with sellers and customers. Driving customer demand for migration by refining our “why migrate SQL Server to Azure VMs†pitch.
• Promoting Azure-only pricing and offers including Azure Hybrid Benefit and free Extended Security Updates on Azure.
• Developing webinars and collateral to connect with customers through Global Engagement Programs (GEPs).
• Championing competitive differentiation for SQL Server on Azure VMs versus other cloud hyperscalers.
• Collaborating with the cross-Data and AI team on guidance for moving from SQL Server on-premises to Azure VMs.
• Publishing SQL Server on Azure VM sales guidance and participating in the rhythm of the field.
In this role, the product marketing manager can expect to develop:
• Messaging and positioning chops as you evolve the SQL Server on Azure VMs marketing collateral.
• Knowledge of the product release cadence and experience working in tandem with engineering to land new product features and scenarios with customers.
• Experience interpreting product usage and financial data to ascertain customer trends.
• Storytelling skills to create new customer assets for the why migrate SQL Server databases to Azure VMs pitch.
• Field execution muscle by landing these new assets and migration scenarios to sellers with the Microsoft Worldwide Commercial Business team.
• 2+ years in product marketing / program management / consulting / in Data Platform or Database technologies.
• Track record of working with a diverse set of stakeholders to execute complex operational projects.
• Cross-functional project management and cross team collaboration skills
• Excellent problem identification, structuring and resolution.
• Detail-oriented, and demonstrate excellent oral and written communication abilities.
• Comfortable in fast-paced environment, and able to manage ambiguity.
• A passion for technology.
• A bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in Business Management, Computer Science, or some related discipline is preferred
