What’s the role about?

As a Digital Product Manager you are the intersection between business, technology and user experience. You will be responsible for managing the product development process from product discovery and truly understanding the problems that are to be solved, to defining the area on which to focus and developing products that are desirable, feasible and viable from both a customer and business perspective. 

Your success, and that of your product stream,relies on every team member understanding the vision and being passionate about the direction of travel.You will be responsible for shaping the product strategy for your stream, ensuring all teams can translate the strategy into prioritised and actionable units of work for the Development teams and deliver a best-in-class customer and user experience across multiple digital channels. 

You will be passionate about developing technology capabilities to support current and future customer needs and be obsessed with optimising your product. 

You will lead by example, with a hands-on approach, coaching and developing a team of expert Digital Partners.

We are a vibrant, spirited, multi functional and matrixed team of Product Specialists, Designers, Engineers and Analysts working collaboratively to deliver ambitious Omnichannel plans.

What will you be doing?

You will take ownership of setting the long-term strategy for your Product stream. 

Translate strategic decisions and direction into a clear plan and set of objectives and key results (OKRs) for your stream to ensure customer and commercial targets can be achieved. 

Be clear on the relationship between the Product Strategy and the Product Roadmap, creating a roadmap of incremental improvements and iterative development that takes your Product stream towards its vision and maximises value from the Product. 

Develop and hold the overall plan for the Product stream that encompasses all elements of technical and non technical build ensuring dependencies are understood and release dates or time frames are tracked and managed appropriately. 

Drive the end-to-end product life cycle development, including key events such as product-market fit, go-to-market strategy and monitoring and tracking the performance of products (including live incident reviews). 

Lead, coach, develop and recruit a strong, capable and empowered team of Product Owners, managing all areas of the Partner life cycle. 

Play an active part in fostering a culture of agility and champion the creation of the Product Ownership community of practice, looking for ways to continually improve both as an individual and a collective. 

What you'll have:

  • A clear passion for the brand and digital customer centric journeys 

  • Be a strong communicator and have the ability to take your stakeholders on a journey

  • Experience of leading and developing teams 

  • Able to solve complex problems and take a new perspective on existing solutions. 

  • Deep knowledge of Agile methodologies (such as SCRUM or Kanban). 

 

What else could you bring?

  • Previous Consumer/Ecom experience 

  • Strong understanding of John Lewis and it’s digital journey

  • Project management experience
