Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience with products across projects.

Preferred qualifications:

4 years of experience in designing products.

Ability to be creative and comfortable with opportunities.

Ability to take initiative to drive initiatives forward.

Ability to articulate positions and advocate strategies/designs.

Excellent collaboration skills while working with technical and cross-functional teams to deliver on large projects.

Excellent communication skills.

In this role, you will be providing strategic direction to help our products evolve to respond to users expectations and adapt to global dynamics. To execute on this strategy, you will work closely with teams to classify sensitive content and to improve the usability of user settings.

The Product Manager will develop the Search systems required to understand information needs based on identity, settings preferences, and more. In collaboration with Google leaders and cross-functional partners, you will help the public understand how Google’s content moderation systems keep users safe.

As a Product Manager at Google, you could be working on new technologies, platforms, consumer facing products, and/or enterprise systems. The end goal will be to match you with the team that best aligns with your interests, experience, and where you will have the most impact.

Responsibilities

Make critical contributions to the Trust strategy by enhancing the SafeSearch settings. Extend our work by building an age appropriate readiness strategy for the future. Develop the search systems informational needs based on a user’s age, identity, and settings preferences.

Work with User Experience Research to assess the needs of vulnerable Search users and develop personas to help us meet the needs of the next-generation of Search users.

Work closely with the SafeSearch engineering team to leverage algorithmic classifiers to ensure Search meets content policy commitments at scale.

Implement privacy and content safeguards to limit high risk scenarios by default. Empower Search users to customize their experience by promoting optional settings.
