About the Role:
Develop new propositions by identifying potential products; conducting market research; generating product requirements; determining specifications; pricing; marketing strategies and structured plans for product release. Maintain portfolio of existing products; lifecycle management aligned to maturity assessment within the Product Development Framework.
Key Responsibilities:
- Determine Enterprise customer needs and desires by specifying the research needed to obtain market information. Assess market competition by comparing the company's product to competitors' products. Recommend future product lines that underpin future revenue and margin growth within the category
- Determine best fit suppliers and product offering by understanding the customer needs and aligning them with suppliers and product offerings. Undertake RFIs and RFPs to evaluate and make business recommendations
- Commercial ownership including developing business case for launch and ongoing upgrades, and in-life profitability and support future strategy and revenue/profit growth plans. Assess market pricing to ensure competitive positioning and understand cost base to drive profitability
- Define, build, and launch product by understanding and defining the customer experience, the high-level requirements and by working with launch teams and all areas of the business to successfully build and launch the product. Create the sales toolkit and work with the business to create the marketing collateral and train the business to successfully deliver the revenue targets
- Lifecycle management of existing products and services to ensure the maturity evolves with the changes in the industry, vendor roadmap and O2 business. Provide product consultancy and expertise to sell, deliver and manage customer’s in-life. Conduct regular reviews and updates with vendors, in-life updates, and product roadmaps. Continuously review of product against plan and ensuring product delivers against business case and deliver continuous product improvement to ensure product evolves to meet market and customer demands
What We Need from You:
- Extensive experience (at least 3yrs) within the ICT or Business Telco industry with track record in delivering products and propositions to Enterprise and mid-market customers
- Structured approach with the ability to adopt and follow Product Development methodologies and to forecast and manage budgets
- Commercial acumen to manage the products they’re responsible for to ensure we remain profitable and relevant in the industry
- Background in Internet and IP VPN/WAN networking (e.g. Ethernet and BT Broadband access technologies), Public Cloud, LAN product sets and related WiFi access
- Understanding of the UK regulatory environment for Business services & Broadband (BTW offerings, LLU etc.) and specifically how this influences and controls customers buying choices and demands
- Experience of leveraging partners to provide agility and flexibility to strengthen our portfolio
