Product Manager – Clinical Devices and Data

 

Boots Opticians have an exciting opportunity to join our company as a Product Manager – Clinical Devices & Data. This is a new role that is critical to supporting the effective delivery of clinical services today and driving innovation and the strategic agenda for the future.

 

About the opportunity:

The role will sit within the Strategy & Transformation team alongside other product areas and will work cross-functionally across the business, including Customer, Commercial, Professional Services, Retail and Technology, as well as third-party vendors. The key responsibilities include:

 

  • Work with Retail, Customer & Commercial teams to translate their vision for clinical services into an aligned technical product and data roadmap
  • Size, prioritise and maintain the backlog of business and user requirements for clinical devices and data
  • Facilitate continuous improvement activity and the identification and implementation of productivity improvements 
  • Coordinate and influence internal technical teams and third-party vendors to deliver against the agreed roadmap 
  • Hold third party vendors to account for product development and technical support as required
  • Coordinate the ongoing procurement and maintenance of clinical devices across our estate
  • Help shape the strategic direction by gathering and sharing external perspectives, insight and innovations

About you: 

  • Experience of owning and driving a technical/ digital product roadmap and associated backlog
  • Advocate of continuous improvement and agile ways of working, with a laser-sharp focus on customers and colleagues
  • Knowledge of optical clinical devices and data management (not essential, can be learned)
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and influence to align stakeholders around a common plan
  • Strong communication, story-telling and facilitation skills to take people with you
  • Adept at dealing with ambiguity and problem solving
  • Is curious and draws on external sources to drive innovation and stretch thinking
  • Demonstrates critical thinking and uses data to make informed decisions
