The Division
The Customer Strategy and Technology team within Transport leads the development of long-term, multi-modal strategies, plans and policies across NSW. We leverage data and insights, implement new technologies, drive innovation and build partnerships to provide customer-centred solutions.
The Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) team within Transport makes regional and outer metropolitan NSW a better place to live, work and visit.  
The opportunity
Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Product Lead- Regional Ticketing to join us in the Customer Strategy and Experience team.
We’re planning to deliver a new booking and reservation system for NSW TrainLink, as well as providing more payment options for our regional bus customers.
Reporting to the Senior Product Manager - Connected Customer Journeys, the Product Lead Regional Ticketing owns the product roadmap for the expansion of digital ticketing into Regional NSW. This includes transport within the regions, and between Greater Sydney and the regions on NSW TrainLink. This program of work is fundamental to two of the six priority programs in the Future Technology Ticketing Roadmap 2021-2024.
The Product Lead Regional Ticketing is the key partner to the Regional and Outer Metropolitan (ROM) team; ensuring rural and regional customers’ requirements and needs are integrated into the delivery roadmap and plan.
Some of the accountabilities:
Develop a compelling product vision for regional ticketing (plan, book and pay), that aligns to and meets customer needs
Delivery of a new customer reservation system for NSW TrainLink ensuring the solution is customer centric, offers a seamless experience, is highly operable and scalable to extend to various bookable services across NSW
Collaborate across teams to communicate and champion the regional ticketing product vision and to facilitate alignment on, and delivery of the product roadmap.
As a Product Lead you are the go-to person for the part of the Product or Customer Journey within your remit. You are heavily involved in, and claim ownership of, the success and learnings throughout the product life cycle.

About you
Ideally, you’ve worked in a similar role before, and demonstrate a solid capacity in managing the full product lifecycle, including defining the vision and roadmap for execution, executing product strategy, validating product features and design alignment to the product, customer and channel strategies in collaboration with various other internal teams.
You have the ability to adopt the position of subject matter expert for nominated projects. We are looking for someone who can partner and influence key stakeholders to ensure compliance and best practice. This role will see you maximise your digital-first mindset and stakeholder management skills as you work with various teams across the business and inspire your team to develop products that delight our customers and support the objectives of our business.
You have learnt front-line lessons of Product Management over the years, nailed hard problems, and have years of experience in communicating and collaborating with teams across the organization with your core responsibilities being to develop or enhance products that would delight the customers.
Previous exposure to setting product strategy for reservation systems which allows customers to book and pay, and working with delivery team around medium and long term priorities will also set you up for success.
Key requirements
Proven record of success in managing strategic relationships in a complex and dynamic operating environment.
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement in an environment focused on customer service.
High level of initiative with ability to deal with multiple projects simultaneously and with conflicting priorities.
Strong consulting, analytical and problem-solving skills along with the ability to keep abreast of the developments within other teams at Transport for NSW and the industry as a whole
New product development / enhancement experience ideally in the transport reservations and booking space.
Salary and benefits
The salary for this position is Transport Grade 9 $138,670 - $155,309 per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
