Job Description

Our company is hiring a Printing Press Operator at our Mississauga location.  This is a rotating afternoon and night shift role on our late model 8 colour 40” Komori Press. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review docket information to ensure proper job is produced
  • Complete printing Quality Checklist
  • Review colours and graphics to what is on press
  • Perform press make-readies to meet production requirements
  • Set up all colours in correct rotation to meet quality needs
  • Ensure colour consistency throughout run
  • Check sheet from every load for registration, colour, printing defects and evenness of colours
  • Complete defect tags when required.  Insert into loads and document on Printing Quality checklist
  • Maintain accurate counts
  • Complete all information pertaining to each job on the back of the docket
  • Issue printing WIP in Globe-Tek when loads are to be double passed
  • Troubleshoot press to help reduce downtime & inefficiencies
  • Assist in the training of fellow printing employees
  • Maintain & adhere to safety standards (including P.P.E. requirements)
  • Perform weekly scheduled maintenance & record in Maintenance Log Book
  • Complete Work Order Forms and forward to Maintenance Manager when work is required on the printing press
  • Perform other duties as required

 

Qualifications:

  • Technical knowledge of printing press process and machines
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Must be willing to work rotating afternoon and night shifts
  • Good oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to work individually as well as in a team environment
  • Good organization skills and leadership skills
  • Basic computer skills
