We are hiring a Principal Technical Program Manager for our end-to-end Business Applications Dev Crew!

The Commercial Software Engineering (CSE) team is a global engineering organization that works directly with customers looking to leverage the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges and transform their businesses using cloud-based solutions. CSE and customer engineers collaborate to understand customer goals and create production-ready solutions. Our code-with approach gives us deep insight into the challenges customers face with Microsoft cloud services and we learn about emerging customer scenarios and requirements.

As a Technical PM in CSE’s Business Applications team, you will collaborate with a Development Manager to lead an engineering crew that sits side-by-side with our customers and partners to collaborate on solutions tailored to solve their challenges. Our work involves the development of high-impact, open-source software assets that contribute to the Microsoft platforms. We’re looking for candidates with solid program management fundamentals, a proven track record of driving customer success, experience with executive communications, and an interest in Business Applications technologies. 

Responsibilities:

Partner and collaborate with Development Leads, dev team, Account team, and Customer Stakeholders to define and deliver production-quality software solutions that generate immediate customer value and broadly applicable software contributions.

Drive clarity and clear scope definition during technical discussions as Product Owner in customer engagements so that we add direct business value for our customers.

Drive program manager excellence by leveraging and sharing practices for delivering quality engineering and continuously improve our process and practices including managing backlog, risk, and project health, through coaching, mentoring and influence.

Capture key data and insights related to each engagement; as patterns and trends emerge, surface recommendations to internal stakeholders and product group to improve our products.

Contribute to a collaborative culture that embraces inclusivity and diversity through modeling integrity, accountability, and respect, and represent One Microsoft to the customer and with account team.

Understand common cloud architecture patterns and trade-offs, best practices for cloud engineering, developer productivity issues and software engineering fundamentals.

Build expertise in the Business Applications technical domain and customer scenarios.

Qualifications

We are open to all backgrounds and are looking for candidates with demonstrated ability to deliver on the responsibilities for the role.

Required Qualifications:

5+ years program management experience including shipping complex production systems that run on a public cloud or hybrid public/on-prem solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong program management experience in managing customer relationships and engagements, triaging, and managing priorities.

Deep understanding of cloud services and architecture, including business drivers and emerging trends across Microsoft and non-Microsoft technologies.

Understanding or interest to learn Microsoft Business Applications technologies—Power Platform and Dynamics.

Proven track record of delivering impact as a product/program owner.

Proficiency in creating technical reports, white papers, or case studies.

Experience working within and directing geographically dispersed, diverse, and virtual teams.

Comfortable with regional travel up to 25% of the time.

This team is primarily located in and works cross-functionally with teams in the U.S. Pacific time zone. This role requires working with U.S. Pacific time zone standard business hours.
