The Commercial Software Engineering (CSE) team is a global engineering organization that works directly with customers looking to leverage the latest technologies to address their toughest challenges and transform their businesses using cloud-based solutions. CSE and customer engineers collaborate to understand customer goals and create production-ready solutions. Our code-with approach gives us deep insight into the challenges customers face with Microsoft cloud services and we learn about emerging customer scenarios and requirements.

As a Technical PM in CSE’s Business Applications team, you will collaborate with a global Development Lead to lead an engineering crew providing technical subject matter expertise on Business Applications. Your team will build solutions that leverage Microsoft’s clouds, including Dynamics 365, Microsoft 365, and Azure with focus on solutions involving Business Applications—Power Platform and Dynamics 365. You will help craft team strategy based on customer signals, develop deep technical insights and customer scenarios that you share with senior leaders in Microsoft’s Business Applications engineering teams, and create solutions to improve engineering capabilities within CSE and Microsoft.

This role requires strong communication skills, with an ability to talk with, and translate between, business stakeholders and technical engineering teams. You must have the experience and maturity to effectively communicate with and influence engineering executives. Success requires strong leadership behaviors, the ability to create data-driven insights, and superb collaboration skills.

Collaborate with a Development Manager to define team strategy, drive execution, deliver results.

Share lessons, customer scenarios and deep technical insights with product engineering teams to influence improvements to our products and services up to CVP-level.

Create clarity and drive alignment with the Solution Area engineers.

Create a healthy, positive, excellence-focused, and inclusive culture.

Create great outcomes for customers and the CSE engineers working with those customers.

Develop new capabilities within CSE and Microsoft, ranging from engineering patterns to example code to formal training materials.

Use data to prioritize scenarios, development work, and to support insights.

Collaborate with other senior members of the team, including other solution areas and technical domains, to share insights, practices, and data that can influence the decision process on customer engagements and Microsoft clouds.

Drive excellence in program management fundamentals through mentoring, sharing, and improving internal workflows.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:

5+ years program management experience including shipping complex production systems that run on a public cloud or hybrid public/on-prem solutions.

2+ years in a lead engineering / technical role driving demonstrably impactful results.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong technical program management (TPM) experience on cloud engineering products / projects.

Strong cloud computing knowledge, preferably with Microsoft’s cloud platforms, including Azure, Dynamics, and Office with depth on Power Platform or Dynamics.

Demonstrated strong leadership skills with focus on creating positive, trusting relationships with other Technical PMs, engineers, customer business and technical staff, product engineering teams, and Microsoft field teams.

Demonstrated expertise with agile engineering approaches, especially in the role of Product Owner.

Ability to define and solve complex problems, communicate to senior decision makers in a clear, compelling way, and drive decisive action in partnership with others in a large organization

Proficiency in creating technical reports, white papers, or case studies.

Experience working within and directing geographically dispersed, diverse, and virtual teams.

Enjoy travel and comfortable with regional travel up to 25% of the time.

This team is primarily located in and works cross-functionally with teams in the U.S. Pacific time zone. This role requires working with U.S. Pacific time zone standard business hours.
