Ko tā mātou mahi -  Our Role

The Quality Assurance Design Team help achieve design quality on public housing projects through the provision of design advise, design management advise and the implementation of design quality assurance processes.  Projects include those delivered through the Construction and Innovation Delivery Teams as well as the Acquisition Team in the Commercial Group. 

As well as undertaking this work themselves, the Principal Quality Assurance Assessor Design provides extensive subject matter expertise on design quality and processes for the benefit of the whole Quality Assurance Design Group.  In addition, this role focusses on system improvements and changes because of new delivery or construction methods and make them ready for use by the wider Quality Assurance Design Team.

 

Ngā pūmanawatanga ōu - What you will bring

  • Demonstrated capacity to operate effectively across multi-disciplinary teams and adapt your approach to changes in environment or circumstances.
  • A tertiary qualification in design and/or construction with a Bachelor/Master's Degree in Architecture (prof) and registration as an architect in NZ or overseas being an advantage.
  • A long-term (10-15 years minimum) experience in the design or delivery of complex buildings with interdisciplinary teams and multiple stakeholders. Experience and subject matter knowledge in the residential sector will be beneficial.
  • A demonstrated expertise in an area of design such as concept design, construction systems or documentation standards.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the development and maintenance of relationships towards the achievement of good project outcomes.
  • Demonstrated analytical and communication skills, specifically on the development of design quality, quality assurance and risk related processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Empathy and understanding of social housing is desirable including knowledge of issues, priorities and concerns facing key customer and community groups.
  • Understanding of partnership obligations under the Treaty of Waitangi
