Job Description

We are looking for a Principal PM Manager to lead our efforts for the Azure Support Platform.  In You will help build and lead a team of diverse product managers and utilize Microsoft’s core management principals of modeling, coaching, and caring in pursuit of your mission.  You will work with senior leadership across the Azure organization and, where applicable, drive alignment and impact across Microsoft’s organizational boundaries.

 

In this highly-visible role you will use your depth of knowledge about the Azure Business and its customers to ensure that the global support strategy and support platform can meet the needs of Azure Product Groups and Azure Support Engineers in providing world-class, secure support for Azure Customers, throughout the customer lifecycle.

 

The scope of responsibilities includes:

 

  • Building, leading, and managing a diverse PM team using Microsoft’s leadership principles
  • Driving a culture of quality, innovation, collaboration, and teamwork
  • Understand and define use cases and scenarios for the support platform; create an integrated roadmap based on vision, user/developer research, and community engagement
  • Manage the strategy and roadmap for extending platform capabilities; Identify new opportunities based on product group and support engineering needs and customer insights
  • Measure and report on the success of the problem space through relevant metrics and KPIs
  • Engage with engineering teams across Azure to align on dependencies and co-innovation to deliver impactful platform capabilities and APIs
  • Partner with UX designers and researchers to deliver world-class user experiences (UX)
  • Develop partnership and strategic alignment Executive Leadership, Product Groups and Support Delivery across organizational boundaries on the Global Support Strategy
  • Developing a product roadmap and strategy for improving Azure support security posture
  • Partnering with compliance and legal teams to identify requirements and opportunities to scale security features across the support platform
  • Implementing systems and processes for preventing, detecting, identifying, analyzing, and responding to information security incidents.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field or related years of experience
  • 8+ years of program or product management experience where your primary responsibilities involved the design of software features working closely with an engineering team
  • Experience translating customer requirements and scenarios into features, including writing software specifications with user experiences
  • Experience using data to drive prioritization and measure progress
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional collaboration and communication skills (verbal and written); Ability to clearly communicate business problems and complex technical issues to a broad audience
  • Excellent cross-discipline leadership, collaboration and influencing skills. Lead, drive change and influence without authority across groups and executives
  • Experience with data analytics and related technologies. Including Kusto (Azure Data Explorer), SQL, ETL technologies, machine learning (ML), and PowerBI 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience building and managing a high performing PM team
  • Deep knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and application (e.g. IPS/IDS, access control, risk management)
  • CISSP, CISM, CCSP or equivalent certification
  • A deep knowledge of regulatory / compliance requirements. (e.g. GDPR, HIPAA, etc.
  • Experience in incident management

 

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
