The Customer experience team under the Microsoft Digital is chartered to build and evolve Microsoft Store.com ecommerce for our customers. Our team’s passion is enabling all consumers to discover, learn and purchase digital and physical goods.
Position Description:
Our team is looking for a highly motivated technical Principal Program Manager with a strong background in e-commerce back-end services and front-end website experiences. This individual will manage a PM team and will define online purchase scenarios for products worldwide. A successful candidate will need to have familiarity with the scenarios related to commerce transactions: inventory, ways to pay, shipping, billing, displaying the right product information, and order management. The candidate will establish end-to-end requirements, collaborate effectively across all other teams, and deliver a streamlined cart to checkout shopping experience with target goals to increase conversion. Being able to successfully negotiate, work through different scenarios to propose technical solutions, and creating a specific roadmap with timelines for broad projects is critical. This position works very closely with teams across Microsoft to deliver foundational functionality that drives world class e-commerce scenarios across presentation, merchandising, and break through customer engagement feature areas.

Evolve the online cart and checkout purchase experience on Microsoft Store
Focus on driving purchase conversion for products and goods
Lead and grow a team of program managers
Drive the roadmap for the feature sets for product launches and provide technical oversight on scenario implementations
Ability to set key performance metrics and monitor for purchase funnel
Collaborate across engineering team on services and designs needed to enable the e-commerce features
Identify opportunities to increase customer satisfaction, performance, revenue, and/or efficiency across the online Store e-commerce environment
Define and develop individual partner requirements that facilitate and result in the required capabilities to light up targeted scenarios
Provide subject matter expertise across all disciplines with exceptional depth of knowledge for assigned partner systems
Report program status broadly across senior leadership throughout program duration
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of online shopping and e-commerce experience with background in shopping cart scenarios, order management, transactions, and inventory awareness
10+ years of experience in program management, or related business experience defining and creating software features and services
3+ years of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
2-3 years of e-commerce
2-3 years of website experience – development or program management
Ability to develop product plan and roadmaps, define capabilities and drive project execution
Solid user experience background, preferably in web or ecommerce shopping
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and positively both directly with customers and with fellow team members
Demonstrated expertise in planning cross-organization efforts, risk identification, and issue resolution
Great design and problem-solving skills, with a strong bias for quality and engineering excellence
BA/BS or equivalent degree/experience in Computer Science, MIS or related field
