The Azure Compute team is hiring a technically strong PM Manager to lead a team delivering our roadmap of cloud-scale infrastructure compute platforms. You should be passionate about engaging with customers and understanding their needs. Using your strong understanding of infrastructure, you will work together with software and hardware engineers, our industry partners, and ODM suppliers to define future generations of the compute platforms that run Azure Virtual Machines, container infrastructure like Azure Kubernetes Service, and more.
Our Compute product family is the base layer of cloud, and powers millions of instances across Microsoft's internal properties and our external customers' cloud workloads. Designing high-quality hardware platforms that maximize functionality and quality while optimizing cost and fleet utilization is critical. We are in a fast-moving competitive industry, and we are witnessing an explosion of innovation in hardware design. In this role, you will sit at that crossroads and be responsible for creating the next wave of exciting platforms and products.
Working in the infrastructure layer, many of your customers will be distributed systems developers and technical practitioners, so this is a role where technical expertise in infrastructure (e.g., compute, networking, storage) will be very helpful. Familiarity with hardware design processes and datacenter management at internet/cloud scale is also valuable. You will partner closely with other Program Managers and peer engineering teams to shepherd new products to market that will continue satisfying customer demand for more [perf, efficiency, scale, functionality] and your work will fuel Azure's continued growth and success.
This position includes significant felxibility in remote work options, though this is not a 100% remote role. Travel opportunities primarily to visit customers/partners or attend relevant conferences will likely be available (post-pandemic) but travel is not specifically required for this role.
