Te Whiwhinga Mahi | The opportunity

Reporting to the group's director, you will be expected to share your experiences and to mentor other members of the team.

You will be joining a dynamic team, focused on producing quality advice and products to our internal and external audiences. Your input will help Te Puni Kōkiri reach our wide range of stakeholders with clear, informative, interesting and relevant information.

You will be able to bring your strategic insights and innovative thinking, to the team that is tasked with providing clear advice and communications to promote the work of the Ministry and our Ministers.

As a successful candidate you will have:

• Have communications planning, project, and issues management experience
• Have exceptional writing and presentation skills with a distinctive approach and tone that connects with Te Ao Māori
• Be able to write compelling stories
• Likely have a degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, and/or Agency experience
• Be trustworthy and have a can-do attitude
• Have expertise in communication best practice and an up-to-date knowledge of communications tools and techniques
• Ideally, have public sector communications experience as you will be advising on key projects and initiatives to a range of audiences, including our Ministers
