Our Engineering System Integrity (ESI) team keeps Sydney moving by providing design, engineering, and assurance integrity services to Sydney Trains and the TfNSW cluster.
ESI are the technical leader responsible for ensuring system safety and the integrity of the rail network. The team work collaboratively with stakeholders to provide technical expertise and assurance. Acting as Sydney Trains’ interface with the Asset Management Branch of TfNSW and hold Sydney Trains’ Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) accreditation.

The opportunity  

Right now, we have an opportunity for a Principal Buildings Design Engineer to join us in the Civil unit within ESI to develop, manage and improve technical designs related to all stations and buildings to endure ensure performance requirements relating to the effective maintenance and operation of the Sydney Trains network.

Reporting to the Professional Head Civil Engineering, your role will manage a team of senior architects in technical investigations, inspections, surveys and projects related to station buildings and associated facilities to improve the safety, financial responsibility, reliability, and operating performance of Sydney Trains stations and building infrastructure and facilities.

 What you will be involved in:

• Managing a team of senior architects and engineers to ensure building performance requirements are met 
• Providing expert architectural advice in the delivery of major design projects
• Reviewing and making recommendations for designs prepared by external organisations on behalf of Sydney Trains
• Providing expert advice on Sydney Trains’ asset management systems and strategies to ensure consistent management of designs across the division.
