We are currently working with a large Government department, as they look for a Principal Advisor - Strategic Finance, that will lead the development of the Ministry’s Long Term Investment Plan, Strategic Financial Plan and major policy initiatives.

This is a great and unique opportunity to use your long term financial planning, financial modeling and investment experience to add value to important initiatives within a high performing Strategic Finance function.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the development and use of the organisation’s strategic financial plan, supporting Senior Management and Treasury on the long term financial position of the Ministry, in line with its strategic objectives.
• Lead long term investment planning, ensuring alignment with the four year plan, budgets and major initiatives.
• Take a continuous improvement approach towards service cost frameworks and how this relates to the Ministry’s investment management framework.
• Lead the development of the 10 year financial plan, accounting for revenue, departmental and non-departmental operating and capital expenditure, alongside cash flow and key non-financial information.
• Act as a trusted advisor to the finance leadership team and other key stakeholders on matters such as baseline management and updates and annual reports.

Key Requirements:

• CA Qualification or equivalent, alongside a relevant tertiary qualification.
• Experience with public sector strategic finance concepts and processes in a complex environment
• The ability to interpret complex financial data and models, in order to provide key insights.
• Experience with investment management processes
