About the team
The Pre-Contracts team sits within the Commercial Services sub-branch of the Infrastructure and Place Division of Transport for NSW (TfNSW). This team is responsible for the end-to-end procurement of major construction contracts within each project. In the TfNSW Matrix model, the team partners with the project teams to help deliver the largest infrastructure program Australia has ever seen. Some of the projects include the Great Western Highway Upgrade, the New Dubbo Bridge and the Princess Highway Upgrade.
The Opportunity
Right now, we have an opportunity for multiple Pre-Contracts Managers to join the Pre-Contracts team. These roles can be based in Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong or Regional NSW.
The role is responsible for managing construction project pre-contract and procurement activities, ensuring effective administration of all procurement/ transaction management processes and compliance with all procurement policies, processes, procedures, and governance frameworks.
We are looking for an individual who has commercial acumen and has the capability to manage the end to end pre-contracts process for infrastructure and transport programs/projects with input from the commercial and procurement cross-functional teams in compliance with relevant policies, standards, procedures and frameworks.

About you
You will have demonstrated experience in the preparation of high-quality commercial documentation including Design and Construct, Alliance and GC21 contracts for major infrastructure projects. You will also have experience leading, working with and managing multidisciplinary project teams with good understanding of the processes for procuring major transport infrastructure projects within a government context. You'll be an excellent communicator both in written and verbal forms and can work autonomously or as part of a team.
We are looking for someone who thrives under pressure, can manage complex stakeholder relationships and is energised by the challenges presented in our complex and ever-changing work environment. In this role, you will be a trusted pre-contracts/procurement operator working on valuable and meaningful projects with the support and backing of your industry-leading expert team.
Previous construction infrastructure procurement experience will be seen as an advantage.
Salary and benefits
The salary for this position is Grade 9 ($138,670.00 - $155,309.00) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading.
