We have an exciting opportunity to lead a team of enthusiastic and passionate Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists within the Allied Health Community Intermediate Care Team at Auckland DHB has become available

The Allied Health Practice Supervisor role combines professional and people leadership, service development and quality improvements, with clinical practice.  You will have the collegial support of the other Allied Health Practice Supervisors in Adult Community Services, and support from your Charge Nurse Manager and Allied Health Clinical and Quality Lead.

The Intermediate Care Team consists of 20 Nurses and 7 Allied Health staff.  Our focus is bridging the gap between hospital and home, before long term services takeover.  The response time to referrals is within 24hours, and involves working with patients either transitioning from hospital to home or preventing admission to hospital.  We provide acute care to patients aged from 16 years, presenting with a wide variety of conditions. Intermediate Care includes R-CAT (Rapid Community Access Team) and Interim Care Beds in both community and private hospital settings. In this role you will be participating in a 7 day roster which offers the flexibility of days off during the week and extended long weekends.

We are looking for a candidate who: 

• Is a NZ Registered Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with a current APC and drivers licence
• Has a minimum of 7 years clinical experience
• Is looking for an opportunity to develop or expand their leadership skills
• Preferably has experience in the community setting
• Has experience in working in a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrates an interest in the provision of professional supervision
• Has effective clinical reasoning skills and values evidence based practice
