About the role 

As the successful Practice nurse you will be focused and committed to providing the community with high standards of medical care. 

Working in a well established GP clinic, this provider is located close to Lygon Street bars and restaurants, Victoria Market, and public transport links. Perfect for anyone on public transport.   

The Practice nurse is a multi-skilled practitioner who practices independently and, as apart of a team. Their function is to carry out the role(s) clinician, manager, educator researcher, consultant, counsellor and advisory and is accountable to the practice for these functions.

Monday to Friday rotating roster (8.15am to 5.15pm) 

Key responsibilities

Perform clinical examinations and diagnostic testing such as ECGs and audiometry 

Engage in health promotion activities 

Administration of medication and monitoring of Schedule 8 drugs

Wound management and dressings 

Provide assistance with minor surgical procedures 

Triaging of patients 

Administer immunisations as directed by the GP

Provide assistance with health assessments and chronic disease management activities

As the Successful Practice Nurse you will have

Current and unrestricted AHPRA registration – Essential

Previous experience in a general practice or primary care setting 

Strength in building customer and skateholder relationships 

The ability to demonstrate and encourage leadership and teamwork 

Previous experience in the us of “Best Practice” and other software including MS Word/ excel (Desirable)

Skin checks required

Junior Division 1 RN experience and above 1-3+ years desirable.
