Job Description

About us

Transport for NSW keeps our State moving by providing safe, integrated and efficient transport systems. We put our customers at the centre of everything we do – and we do a lot. We connect people, communities and industry and manage how they use our road, rail and maritime networks and services, and even active modes like walking and cycling. The work we do connects the journeys you take every day.

We are a state government organisation made up of more than 28,000 people and we're in the middle of delivering the largest transport infrastructure program in Australia's history. We work across planning, policy and procurement, harnessing data and technology to develop smarter and more adaptive transport solutions.

That means job opportunities in metropolitan and regional areas right across NSW – you have the chance to be part of creating a lasting legacy that will benefit generations to come.

About the team

The Greater Sydney Division is redefining integrated transport choices to improve the lives of customers and communities, making Greater Sydney a better place to live, work and play. We have the single biggest place making opportunity at Transport in the coming years, reshaping Greater Sydney into a metropolis of cities – whilst also overseeing the Greater Sydney region as a whole.

Greater Sydney is focused on delivering a joined-up transport network of services to ensure these cities become the places that their customers and communities really want.

The Role

The Finance and Commercial Team within the Greater Sydney Division is looking to fill 2 newly created Portfolio Manager roles within the Sub Portfolio Client Office (SPCO) team. These are permanent roles. The SPCO team provides portfolio level support in managing the Greater Sydney Capital program. The team is responsible for creating and managing project budgets and key project data attributes in Transports ERP system on SAP. The team also provides analysis on the GS capital program through the review of project performance to baselines.

In this role you will be accountable for creating and maintaining project records and key data points of Transports capital investments, including design of program structure and key architectural elements needed to set the course of the program. You will be responsible for maximising portfolio outcomes through integrated stakeholder experiences, communication, leadership alignment and portfolio risk management.

You will deliver effective portfolio management through performance analysis, change control, stakeholder engagement, risk analysis and management, reporting, evaluation, and integration. The role collaborates with multidisciplinary stakeholders to deliver the programs of work to agreed milestones and business objectives.
