We are looking for a Portfolio Managers to be responsible for an individual portfolio for UK&I CTO, ensuring we provide status updates on our holistic portfolio with active management of risks and issues

What you’ll do:

  • You will be responsible for an individual portfolio and associated ops model for UK&I CTO, ensuring we provide status updates on the relevant portfolio with active management of risks and issues

  • Support the implementation of portfolio-level governance to ensure alignment of senior stakeholders and alignment with Sky-wide delivery functions

  • Manage the portfolio roadmaps including tracking of lifecycle stages, inter-dependencies, milestones & budget through regular automated dashboards and tooling

  • You will be responsible for facilitating our future demand and capacity views across all directorates ensuring that the department is setup to support the business roadmap aspirations for the specific portfolio with rapid and flexible execution

  • In conjunction with your peers, you ensure a smooth transition of projects from pipeline through to delivery, so we are setup to achieve the desired outcome.

  • Encourage a culture of innovation and value add; inspiring creative thinking whilst focussing on outcome by putting value and purpose first

  • In conjunction with Engagement and Delivery, shape and prioritise the UK&I CTO pipeline of initiatives by facilitating business and technology SMEs

  • Design and continually improve an agile portfolio framework for UK&I CTO in conjunction with your peers, that meets the needs of your specific Portfolio ensuring maximising skillsets and minimising unnecessary governance

  • You will work with the relevant SMEs across the department on balancing business value with technical feasibility and ensuring we support our architectural evolution, technical and business roadmaps

  • You will engage directly with our technology and business partners, both internal and external. You will build strong and collaborative relationships across the business, operational and delivery areas and be seen as a trusted advisor. 

  • Your relentless pro-activity will be key to unblocking teams and driving continuous learning, innovation and best agile-scaled practice in the portfolio domain

What you’ll bring:

  • We would welcome experience in the telecommunications, broadband, satellite and media industries, though not essential. We expect you to exercise all the attributes expected within the role including feasibility, pipeline management, scope management, change control, risk and issue management.

  • Friendly, approachable, inspiring and collaborative leader, model of agile leadership

  • Passionate about mastering and innovating best practice in business and technical portfolio management 

  • Importantly, you will have a pragmatic results and outcome-oriented mindset, with a track record of having facilitated technology and stakeholders on large scale projects

  • You will have vision, drive, diplomacy and the ability to make things happen in an environment of ambiguity, complexity and multiple stakeholders, being able to influence others without direct authority.

  • We need you to be an amazing facilitator who is able to resolve tension and increase collaboration towards shared goals in any situation, and who is able to build effective relationships with a range of individuals at all levels in the organisation.

  • You'll be a brilliant communicator and listener, who is able to translate messages and simplify and summarise problems in a straightforward and succinct manner.

  • A keen problem solver , you will be comfortable taking the initiative in quickly grasping ideas in both familiar and unfamiliar domains, and you will be able to use your business acumen and understanding of Sky’s strategic objectives to prioritise and shape these ideas to aid the delivery of the portfolios.

  • Finally, we want you to be capable of remaining positive when under pressure. There will be challenges and stressful times, so we want the people to be able to handle those times as positively as possible and to be seen in control of all situations and challenges.

Livingston Watermark House

Our lively campus is a free shuttle bus away from Livingston South train station and the town centre. Plus there’s onsite parking available for cars, motorbikes and bicycles.

You’ll be well fed at our subsidised canteen, and you can keep in shape at our onsite gym. Or play a game of pool or table tennis.

Osterley

Our Osterley campus is a 10-minute walk from Syon Lane train station. Or you can hop on one of our free shuttle buses that run to and from Osterley, Chiswick Park, Gunnersbury, Acton Town and Ealing Broadway tube stations. There’s also plenty of parking, bike shelters and showers.

On campus you’ll find six subsidised restaurants and a Waitrose. You can keep in shape at our subsidised gym, catch the latest shows and movies at our cinema, get your car washed and even get pampered at our beauty salon.
