About The Role
The Policy & Competency Manager will lead and manage the development of clinical and quality policies and clinical competency frameworks to support continuous improvement in care and quality standards, the use of evidence-based practice and the HC-One Kind Care Model.
Leading and supporting the development of clinical and care competencies for all HC-One nursing and care staff in conjunction with other functional teams, the Policy & Competency Manager will align policies and competencies with current and future policy directions from regulatory and best practice guidelines and assist with the development of new clinical roles and new skill mix initiatives by developing the underpinning competencies and tools.
They will establish and manage a robust process for new policy identification, policy review, policy tracking and prioritisation, produce monthly reports on the status and all aspects of policy development and ensure that the customer voice is considered in all policy development activities.
The Policy & Competency Manager will support initiatives related to clinical leadership, development of professional standards and nurse revalidation.
About You
Ideally degree qualified in a health and social care related area, you are a Registered Nurse with evidence of further professional development and updating of clinical skills and have significant experience in the development of policies and standards in health and social care.
You have a strong focus on customer care and are a confident communicator who creates professional and credible relationships at all levels, working collaboratively to build effective working relationships both internally and externally.
With a thorough understanding of UK regulatory requirements, you have extensive experience and knowledge of clinical competency frameworks, assessment methods and their application in practice, and strong analytical and written skills, including the ability to translate complex evidence into concise and accessible operational policies and competencies.
This role is flexible on location, some ability to travel is required.
