The Opportunity

Manage Procurement, Installation & Commissioning of plant and equipment for Project X-Cast.

Hynds' Project X-Cast is a factory extension currently underway at our Pokeno Facility. At its core, this is a fixed-term role who will support safe and efficient delivery of the Plant portion of the project from import to commissioning.

Key areas of responsibility

  • Create and Report value engineering opportunities for equipment scopes of work.
  • Procure custom equipment & machines according to in-house designs as required for the project.
  • Manage and report variances to equipment lead time & budget to the Project Manager.
  • Liaise with the Construction Manager & logistics team to arrange delivery, storage, landing & installation of equipment.
  • Supervise installation & commissioning workers on site to ensure compliance with HSWA.
  • Inspect equipment works and materials on site to ensure compliance with design.
  • Assist with delivery of other Hynds projects as required.

Key Attributes

  • Minimum five years' supervising installation of heavy equipment in an operating industrial site.
  • A "see something, say something" approach to site safety.
  • Confident in supervising permit work such as Hot Works, Work at Height, Confined Spaces, documenting Permits & JSAs and ensuring compliance to the same.
  • Strong understanding of Worker and PCBU responsibilities under HSWA.
  • Industrial or Mechanical Engineering background favourable.
  • Flexible, able to operate outside the typical scope as required.
  • A team player with a positive approach to challenges.
