The opportunity
Right now, we have a 12 month limited duration opportunity for a Plant Operator Grade 2- 3 to join our Regional Maintenance team. We have flexibility for this role to be based in Tamworth, Armidale, Glen Innes and Tenterfield locations.
 
You will operate a variety of major plant items that are used in road construction and maintenance projects. You’ll be required to carry out certain duties including but not limited to:

• maintenance of established pavements
• construction of new or enhanced pavements
• establishment and maintenance of roadside fixtures and signage

Plant Operators are provided with thorough training and opportunities to develop professionally.

About you
We’re seeking a team player and experienced plant operator who is experienced in rollers, skid steer operations, or other heavy plant equipment (such as graders, excavators). You’ll be confident, and highly capable operating major plant and have proven experience rectifying simple hazards without direction and reporting them accordingly. You will also:

• Be an excellent communicator
• Demonstrate responsibility for personal safety and safety of others in the workplace, and
• Possess a valid Driver Licence and White Card

You will be required to work outside normal working hours, and attend after hours call-outs. Be prepared to travel throughout the region and work at locations away from the base location which may include living away from home for periods of time.

Whilst not essential, holding a truck license, (MR) or the ability to load plant on the back of truck/trailer would be highly desirable.
 

Wage and Benefits
 
The wage for this position is Plant Operator Grade 2 - 3 ($1,280 - $1,311.00) per week plus superannuation.
