Join us as a planning consultant (DM) and you’ll help to shape the future of planning. You’ll be part of a large, friendly team with an outstanding track record in development management, planning policy and consultancy services. This is an unrivalled opportunity to be involved in a wide range of projects, from hospitals to libraries, commercial premises to residential properties. What you’ll be doing:

  • processing mainly ‘minors and others’ planning applications concisely, accurately and in a timely manner

  • preparing and presenting evidence on appeal for clients

  • negotiating with applicants and agents to obtain a high quality outcome

  • positively supporting and sharing your knowledge with your team

  • getting involved with service improvements to make your team as effective and efficient as possible

  • providing high quality advice to your clients and the public.

What we’re looking for:

  • membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute

  • relevant experience in a previous position and experience working as a private or public sector planning officer or consultant

  • the ability to manage your own time and meet challenging deadlines

  • excellent knowledge, understanding and application of current and emerging planning legislation

  • the ability to get to remote building/construction sites.
