Key Functions and Responsibilities
- Responsible for producing monthly pilot schedules using the IBS Preferential Bid Systems (PBS).
- Analyze business requirements for PBS in order to create specifications and conduct system testing.
- Responsible for representing the company when dealing with the Air Canada Pilots’ Association and in resolving issues within the PBS committee.
- Coordinate with Pairing Managers for adjustments to pairings for efficient blocking.
- Manage PBS processes for flight training requirements; including OE/RLC, QOE/TLC, and IOE.
- Manage system updates, issues, and enhancements with the software vendor. Maintain and enhance vendor relationship to drive results.
- Evaluate, recommend, implement and manage existing and new procedures and processes.
- Responsible for developing test scripts for new releases, contract changes, and soft rule changes. Make recommendations for optimal performance.
- Participate in regular meetings with all related groups that affect and are affected by the PBS process.
- Pro-actively identify issues and/or changes to the crew planning business processes based on test and productions results that will improve crewing efficiency and minimize costs for the company.
- Maintain positive working relationships with other departments including but not limited to, Flight Operations, Training, Crew Scheduling, and Air Canada Rouge.
- Ensure PBS planning is in compliance with regulatory and contractual standards.

- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows based programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
- Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Air Canada system knowledge an asset.
- Previous experience working with Collective Agreements
- In Flight Service and/or Flight Operations experience is a definite asset.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree is an asset
