Job Description

Key Functions and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for producing monthly pilot schedules using the IBS Preferential Bid Systems (PBS).
  • Analyze business requirements for PBS in order to create specifications and conduct system testing.
  • Responsible for representing the company when dealing with the Air Canada Pilots’ Association and in resolving issues within the PBS committee.
  • Coordinate with Pairing Managers for adjustments to pairings for efficient blocking.
  • Manage PBS processes for flight training requirements; including OE/RLC, QOE/TLC, and IOE.
  • Manage system updates, issues, and enhancements with the software vendor.  Maintain and enhance vendor relationship to drive results.
  • Evaluate, recommend, implement and manage existing and new procedures and processes.
  • Responsible for developing test scripts for new releases, contract changes, and soft rule changes.  Make recommendations for optimal performance.
  • Participate in regular meetings with all related groups that affect and are affected by the PBS process. 
  • Pro-actively identify issues and/or changes to the crew planning business processes based on test and productions results that will improve crewing efficiency and minimize costs for the company.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with other departments including but not limited to, Flight Operations, Training, Crew Scheduling, and Air Canada Rouge.
  • Ensure PBS planning is in compliance with regulatory and contractual standards.

Qualifications

  • Results oriented and attention to details.
  • Excellent management and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
  • Strong working knowledge of Windows based programs (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.)
  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Air Canada system knowledge an asset.
  • Previous experience working with Collective Agreements
  • In Flight Service and/or Flight Operations experience is a definite asset.
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree is an asset
