About the Role

Based in Rodney North Area, in a home-based environment, we are seeking an energetic support worker to support a mischievous and warm-natured 12-years-old boy, who likes to be involved in his environment - on an active farm on top of a hill, with his parents. Communicating with his eyes and gorgeous smile, you will be supporting him in his full and active life.

Aside from assisting his clinical needs, the suitable support worker must be prepared to get out and about in the farm with his special buggy, petting animals as well as reading books and playing games with him. He also has a love of cars and trucks and generally enjoys getting creative. No two days are the same, so to be flexible, have a good sense of humor, be empathetic and have the ability to build strong relationships - are a must. This is a great opportunity for someone who would like to keep things meaningful and upbeat whilst providing the highest level of care.

About You

Due to the nature of the client’s disability, you will need to have:

• Experience assisting people with Cerebral Palsy and seizure management
• Experience with PEG feeding / GJ Tube Feeding
• Experience with use of suction machine and oxygen machine
• Hoist and manual handling experience
• Full Drivers License
• Ability to drive a mobility van is a plus!
