Robert Half is recruiting for an experienced System Administrator to fulfill a role for our Calgary Client. As the successful candidate for the role, you will be accountable for deploying, managing, and operating various required systems on the Client’s AWS platform and Linux related technologies. You will utilize your top-notch technical skills and knowledge in order to manage infrastructure with a focus on performance, reliability, capacity and cost-control. This role is based in the Calgary, AB. area.

Requirements

MUST HAVES:

• 10 + years of successful working experience in system administration including FreeBSD administration skills and Windows Operating Systems
• Proficient understanding and proven working experience of Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS).
• Solid working experience with AWS technologies including deployment, configuration and administration utilizing AWS Management Console and the AWS Command Line Interface (CLI)
• Strong knowledge and experience with relational database architecture, technologies, and servers (MySQL, SQL Server).
• Prior experience in data management within a cloud environment
• Exposure to and knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Containerization), network infrastructure, and IT security
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to partner with all levels of the organization
• Exceptional analytical, research and problem-solving skills
• Must be highly motivated with great attention to detail and excellent organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines
• Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent
• AWS, Microsoft certifications are a definite asset
