What you’ll be doing:
â— Lead the team to deliver Food safety compliance and the John Lewis Food offer to agreed food service and presentation standards.
â— Ensure all Catering Partners are trained in food safety legislation to a level required for their role and that refresher training is carried out as required.
â— Develop Partner Knowledge, including merchandising and technical skills to ensure product quality and availability.
â— Take responsibility for the P & L account for the department, ensuring that sales against cost figure results are below the target percentage.
â— Be proactive in building relationships within the site by networking inside the Partnership and outside agencies.
â— Ensure Catering Partners are trained in and follow all the cash/cashless card systems procedures.
â— Supports the recruitment and induction processes with assessments and interviews as required following Partnership Policy and legal requirements.
â— Ensure the Catering team achieves consistently high standards of customer service to every customer, both internal and external through all channels.
â— Apply health and safety management standards evenly and effectively across the department, thus creating and enabling a safe working environment and also meeting any legislative requirements indicated by the products and/or equipment you work with.
â— Be aware of and adhere to all ISI policy
â— Communicate and share all relevant information in a timely manner, respecting that your team are co-owners.
â— Develop a culture where teamwork is encouraged with openness and trust, valuing contributions of all team members.
â— Empower Partners to carry responsibility and trust their own initiative.
â— Take calculated risks to pursue continuous improvement
â— Carry out Partner performance reviews within the required timeframe including development meetings.
â— Recognise, celebrate and reward success within the team.
â— Recognise both talent and poor performance, tackling poor performance in an honest and fair manner applying current disciplinary procedures.
