What’s the role about? 

The Operating Model Design team is a critical part of our Strategy & Commercial Development Executive area due to the important role it plays in operationalising the Strategy and ensuring we embed Purpose in all we do. The team is involved in all elements of the Partnership operating model and will be fundamental to the delivery of our exciting Partnership Plan.

In the role you will lead the shaping and development of elements of the Partnership operating model (what we do, where we do it, how we do it, who does it) in response to our strategic objectives. This is across the whole Partnership, considering all elements of the operating model from structures, capabilities, technology, process and governance to culture, KPIs and leadership. 

As custodians of the Operating Model, orchestrating Operating Model design, you will work collaboratively (drawing on the correct leadership and inputs from other specialists as appropriate, e.g. Process, Tech & People professions) on specific and prioritised pieces of work, to provide insight and recommend strategic solutions. You will support implementation where appropriate to ensure the Customer, Financial and Partner objectives are delivered in an efficient, profitable and sustainable way. Working across strategic outcomes, you will enable the successful delivery of the Partnership strategy by connecting strategic outcomes with the operational running of the Partnership. You will use your open questioning culture to build rapport with stakeholders at every level of the Partnership to identify both transformational change and quick wins across the operating model aligned to our strategy and desired business outcomes.

The Partnership has adopted a blended working approach meaning you'll be able to work a mixture between the office and home based upon your personal needs whilst balancing the needs of the business.The role could also be based at either our Bracknell or Victoria campus based on your preference. 

What will you be doing?

• Working within multidisciplinary and matrix teams to ensure the operating model is set up to deliver and operationalise the strategic objectives of the Partnership

• Owning the design process to define the end to end operating model across your outcome 

• Maintaining enterprise view of our operating model, supporting outcome owners in the initial shaping of activities required to deliver an outcome, and supporting the portfolio team in ensuring a prioritised portfolio by providing op model insight and analysis

• Completing high-quality, analytical reviews of assigned business areas to identify key issues and opportunities, and supporting development of business cases and benefits calculations including associated financial modelling.

• Framing and presenting solutions and options to senior stakeholders up to Exec level, influencing outcomes at all levels and ensuring key stakeholders for each activity are managed.

• Identifying both dependencies and impact of change across the entire operating model, providing an end-to-end, cross-functional perspective, as well as proactively identifying opportunities and driving continuous improvement

You will have great facilitation skills and will be able to tailor your approach to your audience, recognising the sensitivities associated with changes to the operating model and manage these appropriately.

• You will have experience in and be comfortable with influencing and negotiating at the most senior levels and be able to provide robust challenge to leaders.​

• You will be outcome focused with good financial and commercial acumen. You will be able to apply excellent problem-solving skills and logical thought to develop solutions and to make connections between ideas. 

• You will be comfortable working with uncertainty and agile in applying your knowledge and experience to different situations. You will be able to successfully prioritise multiple projects at the same time.

• Experience in operational areas (either in the Partnership or externally), ideally in more than one operational area would be useful

• Knowledge of governance processes, strategic programme activity or preparation of business cases would also be an advantage
