What's the role about:
When you join the team as a Installer Trainee, you will be one of our qualified drivers with full pay. You will embark on the John Lewis & Partners Installer accreditation to become a fully qualified Customer Delivery Installer, After successful completion of the course you can move to the role of Installer which has a salary band of £26,700 - £34,700pa.
What you will be doing:
Your typical day may involve using your local knowledge to plan your schedule for the day ahead, demonstrating a passion for delivering our products safely and driving our vehicles efficiently. Handling complex installations in customer’s homes whilst acting as an ambassador for the John Lewis brand, you will focus on delivering a consistently exemplary service in line with our customers expectations. You will have the opportunity to take responsibility for your own learning and self development and play an active role in a forum to help shape the direction of your department.
As part of a 2 person crew, you will deliver, assemble and install a wide range of home furnishings, electrical products and sports equipment, ensuring every delivery is made with the highest level of customer service
Career Progression:
There is a career path: where there is the possibility to receive the training to become a qualified Technician where you will spend a proportion of your working day completing installation/assembly services in customers home, once trained you will also be responsible for mentoring and coaching colleagues of varying ability to achieve their personal development goals and the business secure its strategic aims.
This role is a physical role and will involve a high level of Manual Handling (you will spend a lot of your time delivering large two man items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds and mattresses etc)
What you will have:
A C1 Driving Licence (with a maximum of 6 points)
Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC)
Drivers Qualification Card (DQC)
Digital Tachograph Card
Proven Customer Service background
Driving Experience
Strong verbal communication skills both over the phone and face to face
Able to cope with the physical requirements of the role (you will spend a lot of time delivering large two man items such as sofas, white goods, sports equipment, furniture, beds and mattresses etc…..)
