The Opportunity 

The primary purpose of the role is to develop, enhance and continually improve the data assets on the established TfNSW Maritime data warehouse solution and its connections to support reporting efforts that enable ongoing uplifts to customer-focused and place-based Maritime products and services.

The purpose of this role includes, though is not limited to, governance, development, maintenance, cleaning, and manipulation of data from divisional and other databases both on premises and Cloud native.

This role will work within the Maritime Branch of Greater Sydney in the Intelligence and Insights team who enable their stakeholders to deliver frontline Customer-focussed operations relating to Place-based state-wide boating safety, maritime infrastructure, emergency response and recovery operations.

• Build and support the ELT (extract, load, transform) of data in the data warehouse to support operational, management and strategic reporting.
• Collaborate with corporate IT teams to create and maintain the implementation of optimal data pipelines from a wide variety of internal and external sources including ArcGIS Enterprise into a large ‘Single source of truth’ Snowflake data warehouse environment.
• Revise, design, and implement best-fit internal process improvements including automating manual processes, streamlining data delivery and re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability and elegance. 

About you 

To be considered for this role you must possess:

• Professional experience with data warehouse design, development, testing and support.
• Experience in Azure DevOps,setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and Cloud Platforms, AWS preferred.
• Experience as a data engineer or similar role.
• Technical expertise with data modelling, data mining, and segmentation techniques.
• PowerApps, Power Automate and Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, Power Query.
• Demonstrable expertise of Relational Database Management System (RDBM) database design.
• Highly skilled in any of the ELT and ETL tools
• Experience coordinating with other teams for planning, design, governance, engineering and release management of processes and to ensure timely and accurate delivery of data and services. 

 Salary and Benefits 

The salary for this position is for a Grade 8 (123,470 – 138,284) plus superannuation.
