About this role

In this role, you will use your commercial acumen & insight to play the role of “agitator”; drive attention, focus and action to ensure optimal performance for your areas of ownership; Mid-Market, Desk & Digital, within SME.  You will be the central source of data for these areas; this spans both historic performance and performance against budget and forecasts but also build out the trading reporting that is used to govern the product portfolio within SME too.  You will hold the channel teams to account and ensure remedial actions or interventions are implemented timely and effectively.  

You'll have the following responsibilities

Chair and run weekly trading calls for your areas of ownership; Mid-Market, Desk & Digital, with focus of understanding performance. Priority to understand the “why”, the root cause of success or problems and driving follow-up action.

Building of weekly trading decks that are shared across the SME and Commercial leadership team.

Performance analysis on lead and lag indicators of performance against MTP requirements with gaps highlighted and ensure the focus, discussion and action is in the right area of the portfolio.

Benchmarking the performance across portfolio and any external measures available to ascertain:

BT’s position versus the market

How BT is trading versus the market - volume, price, channel, mix

Base dynamics including but not limited to utilisation, usage, dormancy

Expectations for BT given market context 

Accountable for identifying and resolving any data issues promptly.

Feeding future MIS developments and priorities into the Reporting Development and Segment Analytics Manager.

You'll have the following skills & experience

Use data analytics: Uses complex data analysis to show underlying principles, process, or systems improvements. Attention to detail is key.

Storytelling with data: strong skills in articulating the analysis; drawing on data and analytical techniques where appropriate, and communicating this to business audiences.

Business acumen: Knowledgeable in business strategy and the drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g. business KPIs, business cases).

Financial acumen: Ability to create bottom-up P&L’s and use key financial metrics (i.e. IRR and NPV) to determine commercial intervention or pricing strategy targets.

Stakeholder Management- influence and create alignment between potentially conflicting stakeholder needs, to recommend and get buy-in to actions with greatest benefit for commercial and financial performance.

Be Agile - Uses collaborative or agile test and learn approaches, contributing to projects and programmes as a subject matter expert or content owner.

Give Specialised Advice - Offers expert advice on subject expertise building rapport with stakeholders as a trusted.
