The Role

The People and Policy Consultant provides commercially balanced advice to our People Leaders on a range of employee relations matters. The role is essential to ensuring colleagues and People Leaders can achieve resolutions in a timely manner The People and Policy Consultant will also ensure that our policies are up-to-date and will identify improvements to ensure our policies and procedures support TalkTalk’s values.

What the day to day looks like

•    You will coach and advise People Leaders of all levels to effectively manage a wide range of employee relations cases including grievance, disciplinary, performance and absence
•    You’ll provide commercially balanced and proactive advice to minimise risk to the business
•   Working closely with the other People and Policy Consultants, you will share best practice and ensure a consistent approach across all business areas

•    You will play an active role in encouraging and driving accountability for people management into people leaders, providing them with the tools they need to do this, in the form of training, policies, guidelines and coaching 
•    Using People Helpdesk to assess the case data to work with the People Business Partners, identifying root cause analysis and suggesting interventions where appropriate 

What skills and experience you're likely to have

•    You will be an experienced Employee Relations Consultant, having workedacross a range of cases, preferably within a larger business

•    You’ll be adept at quickly establishing relationships, gaining trust and confidence of those that are seeking your advice 
•    You’ll understand the sensitive nature of the work we do within the People Team remaining objective and maintaining confidentiality of our colleagues and the business
