Your new role
The main duties are to schedule shift work to a pool of skilled personnel over a 24/7 week. Knowledge of port or logistics operations and experience dealing with unions is beneficial but not essential. Additionally, the successful candidate will be flexible and be able to work autonomously with minimal direction to deal with changing deadlines and requirements.
Responsibilities
Duties for this position will include, but not limited to:
• Allocating work assignments to operational staff,
• Monitor when staff are available to work as well as tracking hours they have worked; and
• Ensuring there are enough staff with the right skills available on each shift to cover the operational requirements.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role you must be able to:
• Cope with change, think on your feet and have flexibility to meet new deadlines,
• Have well-developed planning and scheduling skills,
• Be well organised, with an ability to prioritise while maintaining high levels of accuracy,
• Maintain a positive attitude with great communication and people skills,
• Good knowledge of communication technology, using a variety of platforms – phone, text, and email; and
• Computer literate across the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
