What you get to do every day:

- Answer questions and requests related to payroll information

- Compile all information in reference to summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages for reports

- Handle reconciliation of employee deductions and other relevant liabilities

- Track payroll record changes by entering updates in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers

- Offer assistance with internal and external audits related to payroll

- Report needed changes after maintaining payroll operations according to established policies and procedures

- Continue employee confidence in payroll operations by keeping sensitive information confidential

- Put together summaries of employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments and employee federal and state income and social security taxes to calculate all payroll liabilities

- Execute relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports to circulate amongst department heads

- Manage other tasks as assigned

- Review source documents with necessary verification

- Certify compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines

- Retrieve and assess information in order to resolve payroll discrepancies

- Proper payroll information maintenance by collecting, calculating, and entering data

Requirements

- 3+ years of relevant experience in payroll

- Prior experience working with accounting software

- Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

- Certified Payroll detail oriented designation favored

- Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Previous experience handling high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.

- Knowledge of internal controls

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills

- Experience with high volume data entry

- Background working with Multistate Payroll

- Multi-state payroll experience highly preferred

- Previous experience working with manual payroll

- General familiarity with Weekly Payroll

- Prior experience with Payroll Tax Reporting

- Payroll tax experience desired

- Automated Payroll experience

- Good understanding of payroll systems for 100-500 employees

- Comprehension of payroll management

- Payroll Tax Returns experience preferred

- General familiarity with HR Payroll System

- Automated Payroll experience desired

- Payroll Law experience highly valued

- Expertise in Payroll Transaction

- Practical knowledge of International Payroll

- Foundational knowledge in Reconcile Payroll

- Knowledge of benefits payroll

- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll taxes

- Adeptness in Union Payroll

- Proficiency in Process Payroll

- Benefits payroll experience

- Ceridian Payroll System experience highly desired

- Earlier work involving payroll

- Demonstrated knowledge of Full Cycle Payroll

- Reconcile Payroll Prior experience highly desired

- Experience with Payroll Tax

- Hands-on experience with Payroll Tax Deposits

- Adeptness in Certified Payroll

- Knowledgeable of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
