The Payroll Administrator position is a short-term contract / temporary opportunity based out of Toronto, Ontario.

Responsibilities

- Preparing reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages

- Payroll information management via collecting, calculating, and entering data

- Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes

- Ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines

- Offer proper review and verification of source documents

- Answer questions and requests related to payroll information

- Reconciling of employee deductions and other liabilities

- Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information

- Protect confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence

- Put together for department heads the circulation of weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports

- Calculate employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments to establish payroll liabilities

- Perform any other duties that arise in the course of normal business operations

- Track payroll record changes by entering updates in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers

- Deliver assistance to payroll with internal and external audits

Requirements

- Exceptional analytical, quantitative and social skills

- Prior experience working with collections/accounting software

- Mastery of internal controls

- 2+ years of payroll experience

- Dependability in Microsoft Office with strong Excel skills in particular

- Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements

- Experienced in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen

- Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data

- bi-Monthly Payroll experience

- Comprehension of payroll for under 100 employees

- Practical knowledge of Multi-state Payroll

- Well-founded grasp of Process Payroll

- Proven knowledge of Process Biweekly Payroll

- Hands-on experience with payroll management

- Foundational knowledge in Payroll Transaction

- Proficiency in Payroll Taxes

- Solid understanding of Payroll Tax Reporting

- General familiarity with Reconcile Payroll

- Benefits payroll experience required

- Expertise in Payroll Tax Deposits

- Experience with Process Bi-weekly Payroll

- Well-founded grasp of HR Payroll System

- Experience with Payroll Functions

- Certified Payroll experience highly desired

- Foundational knowledge in Canadian Payroll

- Comprehensive knowledge of Automated Payroll

- Earlier work involving in-house payroll

- Proven knowledge of Full Cycle Payroll

- Good understanding of manual payroll

- General familiarity with Local Payroll Tax

- Prior experience with Payroll Tax

- Previous experience working with multi-state payroll

- Skills in payroll for over 500 employees

- Quality experience with payroll

- Solid understanding of Payroll Tax Returns

- Wide ranging experience with payroll systems for 100-500 employees

- Capable of managing high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.

- Certified Payroll Professional will be given preference
