Your responsibilities in this role
- Handle all payroll information questions and requests
- Review source documents with necessary verification
- Preparing relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports for circulation to department heads
- Other duties as assigned
- Manage issues related to employee deductions and other liabilities, including reconciling
- Establish payroll liabilities after calculating all employee federal and state income and social security taxes and employer social security, unemployment, and worker compensation payments
- Provide help with all internal and external audits of payroll
- Understand and report necessary changes to payroll operations by maintaining established policies and procedures
- Compile all information in reference to summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages for reports
- Enter changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job title and department/division transfers as part of managing payroll records
- Using federal and state regulations and guidelines, ensure company compliance
- Exercise of proper data management by collecting, calculating, and entering payroll data
- Secure confidential payroll operation information and maintain employee confidence
- Resolve payroll discrepancies via information collection and analysis

-ADP Workforce Now, Excel Formulas, Microsoft Excel, Certified Payroll Professional (CPP), Full Cycle Payroll, HR Payroll System, HRIS Payroll System, Payroll
- Garnishments, Payroll - Under 100 Employees, Payroll Functions, Payroll Tax Reporting, Reconcile Payroll, Process Payroll, Process Biweekly Payroll, Compensation & Benefits
- Prior experience working with accounting software
- 2+ years of strong payroll experience
- Knowledgeable about internal controls
- Preference will be given to Certified Payroll detail oriented
- Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations and requirements
- Knowledgeable of basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
- Microsoft Excel experience
- Solid understanding of Canadian Payroll
- Proficiency in Canadian Payroll
- Payroll systems for 100-500 employees experience
- Experience with high volume multi-state payroll, billing, licensing, AP, etc.
- Excellent data entry skills
- Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills
