Our Burnaby based client in the pharmaceutical sector is currently actively seeking out a Senior Payroll specialist for an ongoing project which is mid to long in length. The role is due to start as early as the 18th of May and they are looking for someone to come in and work on a team of 3 onsite but work independently as the Payroll Administrator. Duties include:
- Process semi-monthly payroll across multiple provinces for 100+ employees on a timely basis
- Input all new hires into Payworks Now accurately and in time for payroll
- Process employee changes and terminations
- Keep up-to-date employee records (contact information, position, titles, department, salary, vacation)
- Calculate special payments such severance, pay in lieu, bonus, final pay and garnishments.
- Maintain employee files and records, implemented digital record keeping
- Assist management with information and reporting as requested
- Investigate and resolve all payroll inquiries
- Respond to internal and external payroll related inquiries or requests
- Ensure that internal controls are complied with for all payroll processes
- Ad-hoc payroll projects based on company needs
The successful candidate will have:
PCP Designation preferred
5+ years experience with Payroll
Understanding of VLookups and Pivot tables
Managerial experience is desirable
Bachelors in a relevant Finance or Accounting program
Benefits experience preferred
Processing of ROE's and terminations preferred
