Reporting to: Global Head of Payroll
Main function of role:
- Ensure the accurate and timely delivery of Primark payrolls in Poland and other countries in Central & Eastern Europe.
- Ensure that the company is compliant on local and national legislation.
- Contract manage various payroll suppliers.
- Liaise with People Systems and in-store P&C Managers to set up payroll in new markets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate payrolls, ensuring timely payroll production; managing supplier costs in dealing with multiple locations.
- Ensure that the supplier remains compliant on payroll related responsibilities such as tax reporting including compliance with local and national regulations and filing local and national payroll tax returns.
- Ensure that payrolls are checked through stores in accordance with company procedures.
- Ensure processing of bank files and payments to employees and various third parties such as tax authorities.
- Advise on legislation affecting payroll.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers including developing relationships with key customers and ensure that service delivery is customer focussed.
- Ensure that efficiencies and improvements to systems, set up and interfaces are pursued. Help minimise costs by identifying tasks that could be managed internally instead of being delegated to suppliers. Pursue policy of continuous improvement ensuring the efficient operation of the company’s payroll function.
- Identify any weaknesses in processes and practices ensuring that prevention of issues is a key priority.
- Ensure that reporting needs within the company are met.
- Liaise with software developers on any issues and enhancements.
- Help ensure that financial outputs fit the company financial structure including dealing with enquiries on financial reports and transfer journals.
- Help provide training in local language on systems and procedures.
- Demonstrate a hands-on approach to problem solving.
- Support growth in the company including taking additional responsibilities as identified.
- Coordinate communication and data flow between stores and external payroll provider;
- Support in case of labour inspections and payroll audits.
- New markets: helps to build strong relationship with local payroll providers and guarantee Primark standards
- Coordinate the payroll for head office employees
- New markets/new stores: support to in-store P&C Managers and People Systems Team, provide training and support to understand our internal process.

Skills & Competencies
- Detailed knowledge of Polish payroll regulations.
- Competent level of English.
- Knowledge of payroll systems and time and attendance setups.
- Strong analytical and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to lead, motivate, develop and interact well with all customers of the payroll service.
- Experience of managing people.
- Organisational and time management skills in managing multiple, diverse and sometimes conflicting priorities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of payroll-related issues.
- Experience in payroll compliance practices.
- Ability to make decisions.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience managing payroll for other countries in CEE region will be an advantage

Experience
Typically 10 or more years of Payroll experience with at least 4 or more years' experience of managing people.
