Our Fraser Valley client has an upcoming opening for a Payroll & Benefits Manager.
This position will join a high functioning, tenured and diversified group while providing and leading a small team of supporting payroll personnel.
Duties Include:
• Process full-cycle payroll by using in-house payroll software for both union and non-union employees. Ensure each payroll is processed timely, accurately, and in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Provide leadership, direction, mentoring, and coaching to the payroll team
• Hands-on oversight of day-to-day activities and help troubleshoot issues
• Process and manage quarter-end and year-end tasks, including W2, T4, and remittance
• Reconcile account balances for the purpose of maintaining accurate account balances and complying with related policies, practices, and/or regulations.
• Provide clear guidance to internal and external stakeholders relating to payroll matters
• Partner with Human Resources and business managers to collect and monitor timesheets and payroll information
• Prepare and maintain accurate records of payroll documentation and transactions
• Complete periodic and annual employee payroll reviews/audits
• Manage and maintain the time and attendance software
• Monitor and maintain Attendance Programs
• Review payroll setup and improve efficiencies through automation and process improvement
Knowledge and Skills:
• Strong multitasking and prioritization skills requiring minimal supervision
• Strong command of English both verbal and written
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and possess a high level of accuracy
• Excellent computer skills including MS Office
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and keep organized
• Able to take direction and follow through with completion
• Strong comprehensive skills
The desired candidate will have the following qualifications:
• 5+ years previous Payroll and Benefits management experience
• In-depth knowledge and experience of BC/AB and US payroll calculation and processing
• Experience in a dynamic multi-Organization environment is an asset
* CPM certification is highly desirable or PCP acceptable augmented with suitable work experience
