About the team

 

Our organisation – Transport for NSW – is comprised of numerous integrated divisions that focus on achieving community outcomes for the greater good and on putting our customers at the centre and our people at the heart of everything we do.  You will be working in the Geotechnical team within Technical Services of Infrastructure and Place.

 

The opportunity

 

We have an opportunity to lead and manage a small team of geotechnical officers and technologists responsible for developing and providing technical expertise in pavements, materials, and geotechnical within the corridor to deliver cost-effective solutions to projects within relevant Divisions.

 

Your responsibilities will include and not be limited to:

 

Manage the business viability and efficiency of the Unit, within accepted budget constraints, through planning and direction, resource and equipment management, and implementation of quality and WHS systems.

Contribute to developing and retaining pavement, materials, and geotechnical capability by undertaking workforce and career development planning within the section, providing technical input into training programs and partnering with industry.

Contribute to Agency capability and knowledge of being an informed purchaser of pavement and geotechnical services, developing and reviewing contract specifications and overseeing external providers

About you

 

You are a tertiary qualified with a three-year science degree for four-year civil engineering degree from an Australian university or equivalent overseas qualification.

 

You will have proven experience in the provision of pavement, materials and geotechnical specialist advice and the management of technical risk in infrastructure projects.

 

 

Salary and Benefits

 

The salary for this position is Grade 11 ($145,203) – ($154,943) per annum plus superannuation and leave loading. For more information on Employee Benefits at TfNSW please click here.
