Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

Assists with the coordination of activities of associates within the Patient Food Service Department at Kingston Health Sciences Center, Acute Care, while maintaining the highest standards and levels of customer service. 

This position is entitled to a $1,000 CAD signing bonus

Now, if you were to come on board as one of our Patient Food Services Supervisors, Acute Care we’d ask you to do the following for us:

  • As a member of our team, you will be responsible for providing direct supervision and training of all staff in Patient Food Services and will provide leadership in the development of a superior customer service culture in Food Services
  • The successful incumbent will supervise the daily operations of the Patient Food Services Department, including meal service to patients, general cleaning, nutritional pantries, and dish room.
  • Continually monitoring operations, and completing audits and necessary action plans to provide optimal nutrition care and meal service to patients
  • Drives patient satisfaction and maintains employee relationships within a unionized environment.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations.
  • Responsible for replacing staff call ins

  • A minimum of 2-3 years of experience in supervising a diverse team in a unionized healthcare environment is preferred.
  • CSNM is preferred, Degree/Diploma in Nutrition Management
  • Knowledgeable in health and safety.
  • Strong supervisory skills and the capability to motivate and lead staff.
  • Employee/Labour relations experience an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
