Part-time Junior IT Support Technician

Summary

This is a part-time position (approximately 20 hours a week, 8am-12pm) responsible for providing general support for the office of Information Technology, as well as performing activities pertaining to Information Technology under the direction of the IT Manager. The incumbent is expected to have an in-depth expertise and knowledge in the areas of information tech and networking. This position will also assist with other projects as required.

Essential Duties

• Provide a single point of contact to resolve or escalate various computer related issues and /or incidents. Manage requests via service desk software that involves tracking, follow-up and closure of incidents
• Trouble ticketing, triage, fixes, and dispatch, password reset, problem resolution through technical scripts and knowledge base, For Applications: How To's, Printer Installations, Graphical User Interface (GUI) installs / updates
• Installing, configuring, troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading hardware/software related to the following:

• User desktops and peripherals
• Notebook PC’s
• Mobile Devices (Cellular/Tablets)

• Devices imaged with Windows 10 and installing end user custom software
• Decommissioning of old devices
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• A degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or technical
• diploma in computer systems technology and /or commensurate years of applicable
• experience in the field of IT

• 2-3 years of experience in technical support role
• Excellent time management, organizational and prioritization skills
• Excellent interpersonal skill
• Ability to work with minimal supervision

Experience:

• IT support: 1 year (preferred)
