Job Description
We are a well-established construction company located in Auckland. With the development of our business, we would like to hire Painters to join our team. In this role, you will work alongside an experienced team and working on different projects around Auckland.
Ideal candidate is expected to have relevant three years’ work experience in construction industry at a similar role. Relevant registration is expected in this role. Supervision will be provided to the candidates.
Tasks Include:
- Prepare the surrounding area by covering with cloth or plastic to prevent messes; tape off areas as needed
- Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint, washing walls, etc
- Provide decorative and faux finishes as the project requires
- Move furniture and equipment as necessary to reach the entire surface of the project
- Calculate the amount of materials and time required for the project
- Must have knowledge for spray painting for cabinets and furniture
- Ability to mix paint and other materials to prepare the right colour according to instructions
- Ability to identify, choose and purchase the correct materials such as paint, brushes, and other supplies from vendors
- Clean up supplies and replace fixtures when project is complete
Other requirements:
- Able to work independently
- Be efficient, reliable and punctual
- Good time management skills
- Able to cooperate with the team
- Ability to work under pressure
- Able to work on weekends
- Travel anywhere within Auckland
