Full job description
The position is responsible to operate equipment to produce a quality finished product in a safe and efficient manner, Comply with all Plant GMP and Health and Safety Policies & Procedures and Ensure Quality standards are met according to Mother Parker's Tea & Coffee specifications
Responsible for ensuring safe working practices and safe working environment through identification of potential hazards, maintenance of clean organized work areas and elevation of potential risks to the supervisor.
Ensuring that quality checks are completed, and maintaining quality practices as prescribed by QA.
Ensuring that the shop orders are executed as required by scheduling.
Allocating labour to fulfil shop orders, which includes structuring and monitoring breaks
Escalating critical issues to Supervisors and Maintenance
Ensuring that material transactions are complete and maintaining material levels on platform.
Leading communication amongst team members through such actions as shift hand over meetings, and shift reports.
Assisting with trouble shooting
Identifying areas for improvements
Machine operator back-up on all equipment when necessary.
Set-up and maintain a running operation with safety, quality and efficiency.
Maintain all equipment and work area in a clean and safe environment.
Must be able to assist with changeovers properly and efficiently.
Responsible for packing integrity and appearance.
Ensure correct materials are being used and conform to QC standards.
Develop, maintain and perform duties in accordance to the Standard Operating Procedures including safety checklist, equipment pre-start checklists, GMP, cleaning and food safety.
Member of a production team to deliver KPI's covering safety, quality, output, cost and waste and participate in projects to improve upon targets.
Requirement to cross train for Gima line coverage throughout shift
Determine how to best utilize equipment and labour to execute orders as efficiently as possible
Ensure compliance with all company guidelines, policies and procedures.
Perform other duties as assignedKnowledge and Competencies
Currently employed at MPTC in the Sarong Department
Understands and practices safe operating procedures
Excellent mechanical aptitude with trouble shooting and analytical abilities.
Computer literate previous experience on PC
Accuracy and attention to detail
Minimum grade 12, or equivalent and previous manufacturing experience.
Ability to handle the complexity of the completed production line.
Must be familiar with all machines sensors, emergency buttons and safety features.
Must have a demonstrated history of safe work habits.
Ability of perform heavy lifting duties as required.
Willing to work cooperative in a team environment
Strong communication, written and verbal skills
Basic mathematical skills
Understands right first time quality
Shows initiative, takes directions and executes plans efficiently
Work well independently and as a team member
Knowledge of SOPs cleaning, start up, safety, operation, CQP
Good organizational skills
Must successfully complete training on operating equipment
Continental 12 hours shifts Days or Nights, no shift rotation, weekend shifts required
