Job Description

We provide before-school care, after-school care, and provide holiday programmes throughout New Zealand. We offer exciting activities for children, including sports, arts and crafts, cooking, science experiments, games, and structured free time. We are a fast-paced, team environment that works together to ensure the safety and fun of the children.

What we are looking for
We are looking for an organised, friendly and process-driven staff member to join our management team based at Stanhope Road School in Mt Wellington, Auckland. 

This position will support our Programme Co-ordinators and is for up to 25 hours per week across both morning and afternoon sessions. We operate Monday to Friday, with school term hours based upon rostered shifts between 7:00 am-8:30 am and 2:30 pm-6:00 pm and 7:30 am-5:30 pm during school holiday periods.
 Candidates must be at least 20 years of age to meet MSD requirements and be able to work both morning and afternoon shifts. 

Tasks & Duties:

  • Work under the Programme Coordinator on the day to day management and running of the programme
  • Ensure the safety of the staff and children in our programme
  • Build strong relationships with children, parents and staff
  • Take initiative to assist the Programme Coordinator with the planning and preparation of the activities
  • Deliver activities to children during the programme
  • Provide informal and formal feedback to staff to develop their performance on an ongoing basis
  • Ensure all Health and Safety requirements are carried out
  • Ensure accurate daily attendance rolls are taken
  • Ensure all staff follow our Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure the venue is always kept tidy and clean
  • Open/Close the programme following all venue-specific protocols when required
  • Oversee food preparation
  • Act as the Fire, Earthquake and/or Lockdown Warden for the programme venue during operation times

The right person for this role will show leadership potential, organisational skills, be great with children and possess strong communication skills with children, caregivers, school personnel and other Kelly Club staff.

  • be 20 years of age.
  • undertake a police check. Our organisation takes child safety and child protection responsibilities seriously, and staff recruitment is carried out in accordance with the requirement of the Vulnerable Children Act (2014).
  • be in New Zealand and have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa to be considered for the position.
  • provide a cover letter and CV along with a minimum of 2 referees on your CV
