Job Description
We are looking for an Operations Manager with an understanding of a contractor/customer relationships, to lead the team who coordinate the inventory management and distribution of bulk security sensitive ammonium nitrate (SSAN) at our customers facility in Moranbah.
Coach and mentor a team of 15 in operations, compliance, transport and dispatch within a safety focused environment. Bring your commercial acumen, management of P&L skills and act as the conjugate between the site and the customer. This is a great opportunity for someone who values their people and has an authentic and transformative leadership style.
As the Operations Manager, you will:
Allocate people and assets to deliver on operational targets and service standards to meet the contractual obligations.
Set operational objectives and deliver results through the team whilst translating the longer term into day to day objectives.
Contribute to innovation and change across the operations through strong leadership and accountability.
Build strong relationships with our customer to respond to daily / weekly changes in operational requirements.
Provide strong leadership, creating a positive workplace culture through collaboration and influencing the mindset of our people to improve the overall capability of the region.
Drive safety initiatives, ensure adhere to statutory and regulatory frameworks, whilst promoting a workplace of Safety First.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and fatigue management as it pertains to the Transport industry, including dangerous goods.
Strong customer service orientation – excellent understanding and strong curiosity about our customers and what adds value to them.
·Sound knowledge of personnel and operational requirements, relating to training and compliance.
Sound incident management/investigation skills – ability to determine root cause and implement appropriate corrective actions.
Ability to consider a broad range of internal and external factors when solving problems and making decisions.
Sound analytical skills.
A tertiary qualification in logistics or business-related discipline or equivalent experience is highly desirable, along with multi-years management experience in transport, logistics or related industry.
