What you’ll be doing…
 
The Engineer will report to a Programme Area Lead during the erection and commissioning phases of the Project, where your day-to-day activities will include: 

•    Supporting the preparation, verification, and approval of documentation and/or management arrangements for:

o    Equipment Reliability Component Classification Documentation
o    Preventative Maintenance Strategies
o    Performance Monitoring strategies, e.g., On-Line & Off-Line Condition Monitoring, Predictive Maintenance, System Health monitoring, etc.
o    Surveillance Programmes with respect to Licence Condition 28 Handover preparation and coordination
o    Periodic test documentation
o    Engineering and Maintenance Standards
o    Maintenance Work Instructions 

•    Supporting the development, configuration & Implementation of new System Health & Plant Performance Reporting software. This includes developing & authoring the supporting business processes & managing the software data requirements
•    Supporting the ongoing data management requirements for existing Software platforms.
•    Supporting Control Centre processes for ensuring smooth plant handovers with respect to technical knowledge and information transfer to build-up a SQEP (Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personnel) Site Engineering capability 
•    Building-up technical knowledge of HPC systems, both in Nuclear and Conventional plant areas
•    Maintaining interfaces (technical & functional) across the HPC Project, Contract partners, the EPR fleet and NGL
•    Supporting the procurement of workshop, laboratory and stores equipment and coordinating the subsequent fit-out schedules 
•    Introducing technical governance arrangements, processes, and procedures 
•    Adapting to changes in levels of accountability, responsibility, and training to meet the business needs

The organisational structure will evolve on the approach to operations, as will responsibilities.  The day-to-day duties of those in (operational) Engineering roles will be to: 

•    Hold the Engineering responsibility for selected systems, including monitoring the performance and long-term health of systems, implementing and monitoring maintenance and inspection regimes
•    Identification of defects and corrective actions, and liaising with (and guiding) Technicians in first line response 
•    Ensure that the plant and buildings are maintained in-line with the requirements of License Condition 28, Environmental permits, Statutory legislation, and Reliability Centred Maintenance regimes; with defects rectified in a safe and timely manner  
•    Adapt to changes in level of accountability and training and responsibility to meet the business needs 

Who you are… 

As a minimum, applicants will have a relevant HNC/D, degree (or equivalent) and have experience in a technical or engineering discipline.  

During your career, you will have gained the following, which will be required to deliver this role with competence: 

•    Previous experience of the maintenance or technical/engineering management of operational plant systems and assets, considering any of the below systems and/or components: Switchgear, Transformers, HV and LV Distribution, Small power & lighting, Motors, Batteries, Circuit Breakers, Plant Instrumentation, Nuclear Instrumentation, Control Systems
•    Understand, enact, and constantly reinforce high delivery and safety standards
•    Open to Challenge and seek Continuous Improvement - Reinforce attitudes and nuclear professionalism behaviours that improve performance and achieve a safe working environment and zero harm
•    High attention to detail – Collate and analyse data to develop and improve processes and strategies, be proactive in identifying emerging issues
•    Acknowledge the accomplishments of others – Empowering teams and recognising individual contributions
•    Well organised - Able to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines and extract and consolidate key information
•    Previous experience in managing System Health Reporting Metrics & analysing Plant Performance Indicators to identify trends & action triggers 

Desirable  

•    Working in a regulated industry
•    Preparing, verifying, and approving technical and/or process documents
•    Managing large volumes of data in Excel with speed and accuracy 
•    Managing workload to deadlines within a Project environment
•    Language skill of French or Chinese
